The Perfect Nanny by DL Fisher

From writing a rom-com book to a quirky romance, DL Fisher is one of the authors who can effortlessly inject dark humor into her thriller book, The Perfect Nanny. Saying ‘I enjoyed this book’ is an understatement, because the roller coaster of emotions that it gave me and how it kept me guessing until the end are the reasons why I loved this book.

I can’t remember a single chapter in which I felt bored and the characters are relatable. Every working mother with an infant or toddler can resonate with Lucinda, even single women so to speak. It was fast-paced but it was not abruptly done. There were combinations of short and not-so-long chapters which I thought were needed to establish and justify the entire narrative.

Three of my favorite thriller tropes were present — the unreliable narrator, whodunit, and the MULTIPLE POV. I’ve been haggling with myself over the remaining .5 percent to make it 5 stars but I believe there is just ONE TINY part of the story that could have a better justification. IYKYK.

I cannot wait for this author to release another book of this genre because this was so darn GOOD!!!

Some of my favorite quotes:

“What’s with this girl and gas?” (I found this funny!)

“One found that the deeper you love a person, the deeper your hatred toward them is when you factor betrayal in.”

“Revenge is a dish best served cold.”

Some of the TWs are:

bullying, mental condition, postpartum depression, violence (murder/infanticide), child abuse, spousal abuse
